Collector Sets April-End Deadline to Recover Homebuyers’ Money

PUNE: Pune district collector Jitendra Dudi has directed revenue officials to execute all pending MahaRERA recovery warrants by the end of April, stressing that homebuyers should receive their hard-earned money without further delay. According to Pune district administration data, 186 recovery warrant orders involving ₹146.5 crore were pending as of January 2026. These cases form part of a larger pool of 304 warrants worth ₹248.77 crore. Between April 2025 and January 2026, officials successfully executed 118 cases involving ₹102.17 crore, but a substantial backlog remains. The highest number of pending cases has been reported in Haveli, Pune city and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) areas. During a review meeting with tehsildars from all talukas, Dudi asked officials to take necessary coercive measures against defaulting developers to meet the deadline. The administration will also upload recovery data to the collectorate website to improve transparency and keep homebuyers informed about the progress of recovery proceedings.
