PDA Plans 400-Hectare High-Tech Township Along Prayagraj-Rewa Highway.

Proposed township near Iradatganj airstrip to feature residential plots, group housing, parks and modern infrastructure. The Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) has initiated preparations for a high-tech township spanning over 400 hectares near the Iradatganj airstrip in Ghoorpur, along the Prayagraj-Rewa highway. The project is part of Uttar Pradesh’s urban expansion plans under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The proposed township will offer residential plots of different sizes, with group housing flats also considered depending on demand. The layout is expected to include four to five blocks, parks, roadside parking and other essential infrastructure. However, land availability remains a key challenge, with alleged encroachments reported across more than 100 bighas of Army-owned land in the area. The Union Civil Aviation Ministry has asked the state government to remove encroachments and take steps to protect the airstrip property. District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma has constituted an inquiry committee to examine the land and related issues. PDA Vice-Chairman Rishiraj said further action would follow the committee’s report and discussions on land transfer.
