Perched high above the bustling skyline of Mumbai, The Urban Whisper emerges as a serene sanctuary in the sky. The residence delicately balances the dynamic energy of city life with calm, minimal interiors, creating a peaceful living environment defined by light, openness, and subtle sophistication.

The design celebrates natural light, panoramic horizon views, and soft material palettes, crafting a home that feels both elevated and grounded. Rather than relying on dramatic gestures, the interiors communicate through quiet refinement, where each space reflects thoughtful restraint and timeless elegance.

Every element of the home contributes to a carefully composed narrative—one where textures, lighting, and spatial planning work together to evoke calmness, balance, and understated luxury.

Entrance / Foyer – Urban Elegance

The foyer introduces visitors to the home's refined design language. A sleek shoe rack paired with a bold black console balances everyday practicality with contemporary style.

Rich damask wallpaper adds visual depth to the walls, while gold-rimmed mirrors and subtle candlelight accents introduce warmth and character.

This thoughtfully composed entryway establishes the tranquil atmosphere that flows throughout the residence, offering a graceful transition from the city's fast-paced environment to the calm interior world of the home.

Living Space – Skyline Serenity

The living room functions as a peaceful retreat suspended above the city. Neutral tones, gentle architectural curves, and carefully layered materials shape a space that feels both relaxed and sophisticated.

A serene mandir sits gracefully within a softly illuminated arched niche, becoming a spiritual focal point of the home. Nearby, a study area positioned behind a transparent glass partition maintains privacy while preserving visual openness.

The seating arrangement features a sculptural sofa layered with textured cushions, complemented by soft sage-green accents in sheer curtains and niche back panels.

The television wall introduces subtle luxury through matte Satu Vario marble, combined with fluted veneer panels that add rhythm and texture while maintaining the room's calm aesthetic.

Dining & Kitchen – Integrated Vibrancy

Originally enclosed, the kitchen was redesigned to integrate seamlessly with the living space. This transformation enhances openness and allows natural light to travel freely throughout the home.

Warm wood veneer cabinetry continues the home’s material language, while matte taupe base units provide a grounded and elegant foundation.

Small yet vibrant pumpkin-orange niches introduce a refined burst of colour, creating visual interest without overwhelming the minimalist palette.

The dining space blends muted upholstered chairs with the existing dining table, illuminated by clusters of crystal pendant lights that add sparkle and sophistication.

Functional yet visually engaging, this zone becomes the social heart of the home—equally suited for everyday meals and intimate gatherings.

Bedrooms – Personal Sanctuaries

Each bedroom reflects the personality of its occupant while maintaining harmony with the home’s overall aesthetic.

Master Bedroom

The master suite is defined by warmth and elegance. Motif-rich wallpaper, a soft peach upholstered headboard, and vertical veneer panelling create a layered and inviting atmosphere.

Neutral furnishings and beige wall mouldings further enhance the calm, restful quality of the space.

Son’s Bedroom

The son's room introduces a more contemporary character with monochrome tree-inspired wallpaper paired with a plush green bed.

Minimalist grooved wardrobes maintain visual simplicity, while a compact study nook supports daily routines. Subtle red accents bring personality and youthful energy to the room.

Daughter’s Bedroom

The daughter’s bedroom embraces a soft botanical theme with calming shades of green.

Botanical wallpaper from Life n Colours, an olive-green fluted headboard, and a cozy armchair positioned beside the window create a warm reading corner filled with natural light.

The result is a space that feels both playful and serene.

About the Designer

Shivangi Shahane Phanse is a visionary interior designer, author, influencer, and co-founder of ANS Design House, a luxury design studio based in Mumbai.

Established in 2011 with architect Amit N. Phanse, the studio is known for creating bespoke residences defined by refined elegance, precise planning, and curated detailing.

With over 23 years of industry experience and 15 years in independent practice, Shivangi has designed more than 100 luxury homes that reflect a deep understanding of spatial harmony and lifestyle-driven design.

She is also the author of the book The Blueprint of My Destiny, which offers aspiring designers valuable insights and real-world lessons from her professional journey.
