Welcoming Gate to Guests – IV Villa, Trawas
IV Villa, designed by Bgnr Architects in collaboration with Kantor Gunawan Guanawan, is nestled on a 6,000 sqm hillside site in Trawas, Mojokerto, East Java. The villa is strategically positioned at the flat peak of the site, offering 270° panoramic views of three surrounding mountains.
Arriving guests experience a unique journey as car pathways circle the hill up to the villa. A tunnel drop-off area and service zone open into the main foyer, where an elevator leads to a double-height living space with unobstructed views of the landscape, pool, and terrace.
The villa is composed of three distinct wings:
- Right Wing: kitchen, dining, and BBQ terrace.
- Left Wing: master and kids’ bedrooms with 270° glass views.
Center Atrium: main hall, lounge, and a striking cantilevered pool connecting the house to the panoramic horizon.
From the lawn below, the architecture resembles a bird with wings perched atop the hill. The pool itself serves as a bridge, merging the villa’s verticality with the vast horizontal mountain backdrop. By day, the villa blends into nature with its transparency; by night, it glows as a beacon over the hillside.
