Court cites repeated non-cooperation with investigators; ED alleges diversion of ₹1,601.6 crore received from homebuyers. The Delhi High Court has denied anticipatory bail to real estate businessman Nayan Raheja in a money-laundering case, citing his failure to cooperate with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) despite repeated summonses. Justice Amit Bansal observed that Raheja had not satisfied the twin conditions for bail under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The court also noted that he had failed to appear before the agency since April 2026, despite multiple summonses issued between April and August. According to the court, forensic analysis of an iPad allegedly seized from his wife's residence revealed information about project costs, expenses and unsold inventory of RDL projects, suggesting his involvement in the company's affairs. The ED opposed the plea, alleging that ₹1,601.6 crore received from homebuyers had been diverted by Raheja's company. The agency argued that custodial interrogation was necessary to examine the collected evidence and trace the alleged proceeds of crime. The investigation remains ongoing, with Raheja's role still under examination.
