Adani Airports Rules Out Airline Business Entry, Focuses on Airport Expansion.

AAHL aims to increase annual passenger-handling capacity from 100 million to 300 million over the next decade while pursuing new airport opportunities.
Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL) has ruled out entering the airline business, stating that competing with its customers would not be a sound business strategy. CEO Arun Bansal said the company remains focused on expanding its airport operations rather than launching an airline. Speaking at the Aviation India and South Asia 2026 conference in New Delhi, Bansal emphasised that airlines are AAHL's customers and competing with them would be commercially unwise. AAHL currently operates eight airports and handles approximately 100 million passengers annually. The company aims to increase its annual passenger-handling capacity to 300 million over the next 10 years. Bansal also confirmed that AAHL will participate in upcoming airport privatisation opportunities to expand its portfolio. Meanwhile, capacity enhancement work is underway at Mumbai airport, with the renovation of Terminal 1 expected to be completed by early 2030. The company also operates Mumbai and Navi Mumbai airports.
