Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, speaking at the All India Oil Sector Meet in Dehradun, highlighted the state’s commitment to promoting green energy in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a self-reliant India.
He emphasized the role of natural resources in national progress and daily life, noting initiatives like the Chief Minister Solar Self-Employment Scheme and major hydroelectric projects such as Tehri, Koteshwar, and Vishnugad that are positioning Uttarakhand as an energy hub. The state is also exploring geothermal energy potential. Dhami praised ONGC’s critical role in national energy security, contributing 70% of crude oil and 84% of natural gas production. He outlined ongoing work on green hydrogen, bio-CNG, solar energy, and expanded gas pipelines under the “One Nation, One Grid” vision. Policies such as Ujjwala have transformed energy access, while international investments and local infrastructure expansion aim to strengthen India’s position in the global energy sector.
