Three-year collaboration to boost sustainability, digital transformation, and global best practices in port operations.
VOC Port Partners with Belgium to Develop Green and Digital Port Infrastructure.
The V.O. Chidambaranar (VOC) Port Authority has signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Port of Antwerp-Bruges International NV and the APEC Antwerp-Flanders Port Training Centre to accelerate the development of green and digital port infrastructure. The partnership aims to strengthen cooperation through training, workshops, knowledge sharing, capacity building, and the exchange of global best practices, with a strong focus on sustainable port operations and digital transformation. The agreement aligns with VOC Port's long-term strategy to promote renewable energy initiatives, including solar, wind, green hydrogen, green ammonia, and green methanol production and bunkering. During the Belgian delegation's visit, officials reviewed the port's sustainability projects, digital initiatives, cargo growth, green hydrogen pilot plant, and upcoming green methanol bunkering facility. The collaboration is expected to enhance operational efficiency, environmental sustainability, and international cooperation while positioning VOC Port as a leading green maritime hub in India.
