China Unveils Climate Plan to Integrate Renewable Energy Across Key Sectors by 2030.

China has released a new five-year climate plan outlining its strategy to deepen the integration of renewable energy across factories, data centres, transport, and industrial parks by 2030. The plan shifts the country’s focus from simply expanding renewable energy capacity to ensuring its efficient use through energy storage, advanced transmission networks, electrification, green hydrogen, and low-carbon industrial development. While the roadmap largely maintains the climate targets announced earlier this year, it underscores China’s commitment to reducing emissions by accelerating the adoption of clean technologies. The country also plans to promote sustainable data centres and expand the use of renewable-powered electric vehicles, including long-haul trucks. According to the plan, China’s carbon dioxide emissions declined slightly last year, driven by rapid growth in renewable energy generation and electric mobility. As the world’s largest greenhouse gas emitter, China aims to balance economic growth with its long-term climate commitments through practical, technology-driven solutions.
