UltraTech Cement Crosses 200 MTPA Capacity, Emerges as the Largest Cement Maker Outside China.

UltraTech Cement, the flagship cement company of the Aditya Birla Group, has crossed a landmark milestone by surpassing 200 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of domestic cement capacity, becoming the largest cement producer outside China. The company commissioned an additional 8.7 MTPA across three locations, taking its domestic capacity to 200.1 MTPA. The newly commissioned facilities include a 2.7 MTPA grinding unit at Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh, a 3.0 MTPA unit at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, and another 3.0 MTPA grinding unit at Patratu in Jharkhand. With this expansion, UltraTech’s global cement manufacturing capacity has risen to 205.5 MTPA, including 5.4 MTPA from overseas operations. The company said the capacity addition strengthens its leadership as the world’s largest cement manufacturer by sales volume and supports rising demand across key Indian markets. Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla termed the achievement unprecedented for any Indian company across sectors.
