Jupiter International Begins Work on ₹3,000 Crore Solar Wafer Plant in Nagpur.

Jupiter International has commenced construction of a ₹3,000 crore ingot and wafer manufacturing plant in Nagpur, marking a major step toward strengthening India’s domestic solar supply chain. The proposed facility will have an annual production capacity of 3 GW and is expected to become operational in phases over the next 20 months. Currently, the company imports solar wafers from China, making the new plant a significant move toward import substitution. Jupiter, which has been manufacturing solar cells since 2009, has expanded its production capacity from 30 MW to 4.5 GW across five manufacturing units in Himachal Pradesh and Odisha. The company expects to achieve a ₹3,200 crore turnover this fiscal year. Backed by growing demand under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, Jupiter also plans to partner with domestic module manufacturers and is targeting an IPO in the first quarter of 2027, subject to final approvals.
