Ranchi Road Projects Near Completion, Promising Smoother Urban Commutes.

Commuters in Ranchi are set to benefit from faster and smoother travel as several key road infrastructure projects near completion. The four-lane radial road connecting the Namkum Railway Over Bridge (ROB) to the Ring Road via Tatisilwai is expected to open shortly, significantly improving the Ranchi–Purulia corridor. Principal Secretary of the Road Construction Department Sunil Kumar has directed officials to fast-track remaining work, particularly near Namkum Bazaar, with contractors given a three-month deadline to remove bottlenecks. Another major relief will come from the long-delayed Naya Sarai ROB, linking the New Legislative Assembly complex over the Lohardaga railway line, which is slated for completion by the end of June. The department has also ordered faster tendering for the Chapu Toli–Kathal Mor road, repairs on Bariatu Road, and completion of pending work at Durga Soren Chowk. To ensure durability ahead of the monsoon, officials have been instructed to restore all roads damaged by utility works, while inter-departmental coordination is being planned to address shortages of sand, soil, and rising bitumen costs.
