August Energy, Energeia Join Hands for $100 Million India Plan.
Energy-as-a-Service Model Aims to Speed Adoption of Efficient Cooling and Clean Energy.
Singapore-based energy-as-a-service platform August Energy and India’s Energeia have announced a $100 million partnership to finance and deploy energy-efficiency projects across India. The initiative will focus strongly on cooling-as-a-service solutions for commercial and industrial customers. Under the partnership, the companies will finance, install and manage energy-efficient infrastructure, allowing factories and commercial buildings to upgrade cooling, heating, steam, compressed-air systems, motors and other energy-intensive equipment without significant upfront capital expenditure. Renewable energy solutions, including solar, wind and storage, can also be integrated. The model shifts businesses from traditional capital-intensive upgrades toward predictable, performance-linked operating expenses, with project returns tied to actual energy savings and performance. By combining August Energy’s access to capital and project structuring capabilities with Energeia’s energy-audit and engineering expertise, the partnership aims to accelerate commercial and industrial decarbonisation and create a scalable investment opportunity for institutional capital.
