Rajasthan Has Resources and Resolve to Become India’s Energy Powerhouse: CM Bhajan Lal Sharma.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said the state has both the natural resources and political will to emerge as India’s energy powerhouse, addressing the ET Government Rajasthan Energy Conclave 2026 in Jaipur. The event was organised by The Economic Times with Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd as co-host. Sharma said Rajasthan’s energy strategy aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2070. Highlighting the state’s estimated 828 GW solar and 284 GW wind potential, he stressed conservation, electric mobility and farmer-led solarisation as key pillars. He cited the Rajasthan Clean Energy Policy 2024, which targets 125 GW of renewable capacity by 2030, and progress under schemes such as PM-KUSUM. Emphasising transmission infrastructure, Sharma invited investors and developers to participate, saying Rajasthan can power both its own growth and India’s broader energy security.Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said the state has both the natural resources and political will to emerge as India’s energy powerhouse, addressing the ET Government Rajasthan Energy Conclave 2026 in Jaipur.
