The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is targeting South Korea as its next major overseas market for green fuel exports, expanding its international partnerships across Europe and Asia. Speaking at the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit and Expo 2026 in New Delhi, SECI Director Sanjay Sharma said South Korea has significant demand for green fuels. He also indicated that an agreement with Japan is expected to be signed shortly, building on existing green fuel offtake arrangements. SECI is strengthening its European supply network through discussions with Netherlands-based Power2X for green methanol. The company has indicated an initial requirement of 300,000 metric tonnes per annum, with potential demand reaching one million tonnes annually. SECI has already floated a green methanol tender for shipping companies. The tender process will progress following agreement finalisation and subsidy approval from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. Meanwhile, ACME is targeting early commissioning of its green ammonia export project, scheduled around April 2029.
