HCLTech to Invest ₹14,257 Crore in AI Data Centre at Odisha Sovereign AI Park.
HCL Technologies has announced a ₹14,257 crore investment to establish its first AI data centre at the upcoming Odisha Sovereign AI Park in Bhubaneswar. The project, developed in partnership with Bengaluru-based startup Sarvam AI and the Odisha government, marks HCLTech's entry into India's rapidly growing sovereign AI infrastructure sector. The investment includes financial assistance from the state government and aligns with HCLTech's expansion into the full-stack AI market. Combining HCLTech's enterprise AI expertise with Sarvam AI's foundation models, the facility will develop sector-specific AI solutions for government and private enterprises. The data centre is expected to strengthen India's sovereign AI ecosystem by delivering secure, multilingual AI services while meeting national data sovereignty requirements. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the project was signed in the presence of Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, senior government officials, and executives from HCLTech and Sarvam AI, reinforcing Odisha's position as an emerging technology hub.
