Vizag Port Handles Nearly Half of India’s Marine Exports, Strengthens Seafood Trade.

Visakhapatnam Port Authority has reinforced its position as India's leading gateway for marine exports, handling nearly half of the country's seafood shipments in recent years. According to the Union Commerce Ministry's reply in Parliament, the port accounted for 50.87% of India's marine product exports in 2024–25 and maintained a 48.89% share in 2025–26, reflecting its crucial role in the seafood export supply chain. In 2023–24, marine exports through Vizag Port were valued at $2.19 billion, contributing 29.6% of India's total seafood exports worth $7.38 billion. The Centre also highlighted Andhra Pradesh's progress under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, with 99 products identified across its 26 districts for export promotion. These products are being showcased through exhibitions, buyer-seller meets, the GeM ODOP Bazaar platform, and support from Indian missions abroad to expand global market access and strengthen exports.
