Integrated master plan proposed to ease congestion and upgrade public infrastructure.
Vizag MP Seeks Central Support for Comprehensive RK Beach Redevelopment.
Vizag MP M. Sribharat has sought the Centre’s support for the comprehensive redevelopment of Ramakrishna Beach (RK Beach) in Visakhapatnam, highlighting pressing infrastructure and mobility issues affecting the city’s most popular public space. During a meeting in New Delhi with Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the MP submitted a detailed representation outlining key challenges. He flagged rising traffic congestion along Beach Road, inadequate pedestrian space, deteriorating retaining walls, and damaged stormwater drainage systems. Stressing the need for an integrated master plan, he noted that the area has seen fragmented development over the years. The proposal includes a continuous seaside promenade, stepped seating and viewing decks, wider walkways, cycling tracks, modern public amenities, improved stormwater management, elevated pedestrian pathways, and multi-level parking facilities. The Union minister reportedly responded positively, assuring that the proposal would be examined in detail.
