From ports to hinterland: Adani sharpens its logistics play.
Adani Ports to Buy Jaypee Fertilisers for ₹1,500 Cr, Eyes Major Kanpur Logistics Hub.
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has announced the acquisition of 100% stake in Jaypee Fertilisers & Industries Ltd for ₹1,500 crore in an all-cash deal under the NCLT-approved resolution plan of Jaiprakash Associates Limited. The transaction will give APSEZ indirect control over Kanpur Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd, which owns a strategically located 243-acre industrial and commercial land parcel in Kanpur. APSEZ plans to develop a large logistics park and warehousing hub on the site, strengthening its inland logistics footprint in North India. The acquisition aligns with the company’s strategy to expand its multimodal logistics park network from 12 to 16 and nearly quadruple warehousing capacity by 2031. The deal forms part of the Adani Group’s ₹14,535-crore resolution plan approved by the National Company Law Tribunal and upheld by the appellate tribunal. The transaction is expected to close within 90 days of the March 2026 approval.
