Concrete Horizon: A Home of Light, Landscape, and Intention

Concrete Horizon is a residence born from the dialogue between terrain, material, and light. Set on a steeply sloping lot, the home was conceived as a suspended linear form above a garage and studio. The architecture listens to the land—embracing its challenges to create serenity and openness.

Exposed concrete defines the home’s language: honest, strong, and sculptural. Yet it’s softened by natural textures—wood, stone, and greenery that breathe warmth into the raw materiality. High ceilings, open spans, and generous glazing invite natural light to become a design element, blurring the boundary between indoors and outdoors.

Landscaping continues the green of the street into the heart of the plot, where a reflective pool animates the concrete surfaces and draws life to the residence. Materials meet in harmony—quartzite, granite, and wood complementing the concrete’s solidity. Inside, textured furnishings and soft fabrics add a layer of intimacy, transforming a bold structure into a poetic, livable home.

Concrete Horizon is more than a dwelling—it’s an expression of intention and emotion. Designed by Frederico Bicalho Architecture, it reflects the studio’s philosophy of blending functionality, sophistication, and sensitivity to context.
