Navi Mumbai Airport Launches International Operations with First Abu Dhabi Flight.

Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) has officially commenced its international operations with the launch of Air India Express' direct Abu Dhabi service, operating three times a week. The milestone comes more than six months after the airport began domestic commercial operations on December 25, marking a major step in expanding India's aviation network. Developed as a joint venture between the Adani Group and CIDCO, NMIA is set to become the Mumbai Metropolitan Region's second global gateway. The inaugural flight also carried the airport's first international perishable export shipment, strengthening its role in global cargo and trade. Currently handling around 150 daily Air Traffic Movements (ATMs) and connecting 46 domestic destinations, NMIA is expected to significantly enhance passenger convenience and regional connectivity. With Abu Dhabi being the first of several planned international destinations, the airport is poised to support India's growing travel, tourism, exports, and economic development while easing congestion at Mumbai's existing airport.
