₹23,701 per TEU royalty secures JSW Infra’s second major win at NSD.
JSW Infrastructure Tops Bid for Outer Container Terminal Project at Kolkata Port.
JSW Infrastructure Ltd, led by Sajjan Jindal, has emerged as the highest bidder for the integrated development of two new outer container terminals and five existing berths at Netaji Subhas Dock (NSD) under the Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Authority. The company quoted a royalty of ₹23,701 per twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU), significantly higher than the ₹2,700 per TEU bid by a consortium of Ripley & Co and Bothra Group. The ₹1,832.25-crore project will be executed in two phases. Phase one involves the construction of two outer container berths and approach trestles, targeted to begin operations by January 2029 with a capacity of 4,07,400 TEUs. Phase two will see JSW Infra take over five NSD berths currently operated by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd, adding 5,22,830 TEUs by July 2031. This marks JSW Infrastructure’s second major project at the Kolkata port, reinforcing its growing footprint in India’s container port sector.
