Single-window approvals and metro-focused planning aim to boost affordable housing and sustainable urban growth.
DDA Invites Developers to Accelerate Transit-Oriented Development in Delhi.
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has initiated the application process for developer entities to undertake projects under its revised Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) policy. The policy covers a 500-metre stretch on both sides of metro corridors and a 500-metre radius around rapid rail stations, unlocking nearly 207 sq. km. for planned development. Developers can now apply through DDA’s Online Building Permit System (OBPS), which offers a single-window approval mechanism, eliminating the need for separate clearances from agencies such as the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Delhi Jal Board, and Delhi Fire Service. The TOD policy encourages mixed land use, including affordable housing, office spaces, guest houses, and studio apartments, while supporting sustainable urban planning. It also allows development along both operational and upcoming metro corridors, ensuring infrastructure grows alongside transit expansion. The initiative is expected to improve ease of doing business, increase metro ridership, and create more livable, well-connected urban communities.
