Radisson Hotel Group has announced the signing of two new hotel properties in partnership with Vihang Group, expanding its hospitality footprint across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). The two new projects — Radisson Hotel Mumbai Thane and Radisson Hotel Mumbai Mira Bhayandar — will add a combined 217 rooms, strengthening the Group’s strategy to deepen its presence in metro cities while targeting high-growth emerging business corridors.

A major highlight of the expansion is the launch of the first five-star hotel in Mira-Bhayandar. The hotel is being developed at Vihang Ventura, a prominent mixed-use commercial project by Vihang Ahead, located on Mira Bhayandar Road with seamless access to National Highway 48 and Mumbai’s western suburbs. This project marks a significant milestone for the region, reflecting the growing commercial and residential transformation of Mira Bhayandar into a premium urban destination.

Speaking on the development, Purvesh Pratap Sarnaik, Director of Vihang Ahead, said the introduction of a globally recognised hospitality brand like Radisson will establish a new benchmark for business, retail, and hospitality integration in the region. He noted that the development is expected to transform Mira Bhayandar’s hospitality landscape and position it as a prominent urban destination.

The Radisson Hotel Mumbai Mira Bhayandar will feature 103 rooms and is being designed as a full-scale hospitality destination. The property will include all-day dining, specialty restaurants, a bar, banquet and meeting spaces with pre-function areas, catering to corporate travellers, MICE requirements, and social events. Additional wellness and leisure amenities such as a gym and swimming pool will further enhance the guest experience.

The location of the Mira Bhayandar hotel is expected to benefit significantly from upcoming infrastructure improvements, including Metro Line 9 and stronger road connectivity, which will improve accessibility and strengthen integration with Mumbai’s larger commercial ecosystem. The region is witnessing rising traction from premium residential developments, organised retail, experiential dining, and Grade A commercial assets, making it an attractive micro-market for branded hospitality.

Pratap Sarnaik, Founder and Chairman of Vihang Group, stated that the partnership with Radisson Hotel Group reflects the company’s long-term commitment to enhancing infrastructure and lifestyle standards across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. He highlighted that the development represents a major milestone in elevating the region’s hospitality ecosystem to national and international standards.

Commenting on the expansion, Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director and COO, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group, said the company remains focused on strengthening its metro-city presence by identifying emerging business corridors where infrastructure and commercial activity are growing rapidly. He added that these new signings will help Radisson deepen its footprint in high-growth urban clusters while catering to increasing demand from business and MICE segments.

The hospitality demand in Thane and Mira Bhayandar has grown steadily, driven by infrastructure upgrades, commercial expansion, and increasing corporate presence, especially from IT and BFSI sectors. These factors have transformed the peripheral regions of Mumbai into significant business corridors.

As part of the expansion, Radisson Hotel Mumbai Thane will feature 114 rooms and will be located on Pokhran Road, close to key office developments and retail hubs. The property will benefit from strong connectivity through National Highway 48 and easy access to Thane Railway Station, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, and the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport.

Davashish Srivastava, Senior Director – Development, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group, said that Tier-1 cities remain strategic for the Group’s growth, especially through mixed-use developments and high-potential micro-markets where connectivity and commercial momentum are creating new demand centres. He added that these projects will create a strategic hospitality cluster in the Mumbai region while ensuring long-term value for stakeholders.

The introduction of an internationally branded hotel in Mira Bhayandar is aligned with Radisson Hotel Group’s broader India growth strategy of identifying high-potential urban corridors early and establishing a presence ahead of market maturity.

Radisson Hotel Group currently operates over 200 hotels in India across operational and development stages, making it one of the country’s largest international hotel operators. The Group maintains a strong position in Tier-1 markets such as Delhi NCR, while over half of its portfolio is spread across Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

Its India portfolio includes multiple brands such as Radisson Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson RED, Park Inn by Radisson, Park Plaza, and Radisson Individuals, supporting its strategy of catering to varied hospitality segments across the country.

With this dual hotel signing, Radisson Hotel Group and Vihang Group are set to reshape the hospitality landscape of Thane and Mira Bhayandar, supporting the growing demand for premium hospitality experiences across the expanding Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
