Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects worth over ₹25,200 crore in Siwan, Bihar, aimed at boosting infrastructure, connectivity, and socio-economic growth.
Key highlights included the Vaishali-Deoria railway line, launch of the Patliputra-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat Express, and the flagging off of the first export locomotive from Bihar’s Marhowra factory to Guinea, marking a milestone for ‘Make in India’. Modi also inaugurated six STPs under the Namami Gange project and laid foundations for water and sanitation projects worth over ₹3,000 crore. A 500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System will be developed across 15 grid substations. Over 53,600 beneficiaries received the first installment of PMAY-Urban, with keys handed to select families. Modi lauded Bihar’s youth and governance under CM Nitish Kumar, emphasizing the state’s growing role in India’s development. Dignitaries including Governor Arif Mohammed Khan and Union Ministers were present.
