Navratna PSU takes early-mover step in India’s green hydrogen mission.
NLC India Nears Electrolyser Procurement for 4 MW Green Hydrogen Project.
NLC India Ltd (NLCIL) is in the advanced stage of procuring electrolysers for its 4 MW green hydrogen pilot project at Neyveli, Tamil Nadu, Chairman and Managing Director Prasanna Kumar Motupalli announced. The initiative, powered by solar energy, aligns with the National Green Hydrogen Mission, which aims to establish India as a global hub for green hydrogen production and technology. Once commissioned, the plant will produce 300 kg of high-purity hydrogen (99.999%) daily, operating during daylight hours. This project will make NLCIL one of the early movers in India’s green hydrogen economy, paving the way for larger-scale adoption. A Navratna PSU founded in 1956, NLCIL has expanded from lignite mining and thermal power into renewables and sustainable energy solutions. With ambitious goals to reach over 10 GW each in thermal and renewable power by 2030, the company plays a key role in powering states across southern and western India.
