Empowering Vizag with clean energy, smart tech, and sustainable growth.

EESL and APEPDCL Join Hands to Drive Solar and EV Revolution in Coastal Andhra.

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), under the Union Ministry of Power, has partnered with Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) to accelerate clean energy initiatives across coastal Andhra. The collaboration includes setting up small-scale solar plants (0.3–10 MW) near substations to boost rural power reliability, expanding EV charging infrastructure through a revenue-sharing model, and deploying electric vehicles for government use under India’s national e-mobility programme. In a meeting between APEPDCL CMD Pruthvitej Immadi and EESL CEO Akhilesh Kumar Dixit, the two outlined a roadmap for sustainable growth and consumer-centric energy solutions. EESL will also introduce energy-efficient appliances—LED bulbs, BLDC fans, and smart air conditioners—across APEPDCL offices. Andhra Pradesh, a top performer in energy efficiency, contributes 6% of India’s total UJALA savings. The successful “Vizag model” of LED street lighting, post-Hudhud cyclone, continues to inspire nationwide adoption and international recognition.
