Uttar Pradesh Accelerates Renewable Energy Push to Drive Industrial and Agricultural Growth.

The state focuses on solar power, green hydrogen and clean energy investments to strengthen sustainable development and farmer incomes.

Uttar Pradesh is stepping up investments in renewable energy to support industrial expansion, agricultural growth and sustainable development. The state government has identified clean energy as a priority sector, with a focus on solar power, green hydrogen and emerging energy technologies. The strategy was highlighted at Uttar Pradesh Urja Sangam 2026, organised by ASSOCHAM India in association with the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) and Invest UP. The event brought together government officials, industry representatives and financial institutions to explore investment opportunities. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak highlighted the sector’s progress since 2017, including improvements in grid integration and renewable energy infrastructure. He also emphasised the role of central government initiatives such as the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and PM-KUSUM in expanding solar adoption. These schemes aim to help households reduce electricity expenses and enable farmers to generate solar power. Pathak also noted Uttar Pradesh’s strong performance in rooftop solar installations. Chief Minister’s Advisor Awanish Kumar Awasthi highlighted the state’s potential to attract green energy investments and strengthen its sustainable energy ecosystem.
