State tops India in decentralised solar projects and strengthens agricultural solarisation under the PM-KUSUM scheme.

Rajasthan Leads PM-KUSUM Decentralised Solar Capacity, Ranks Third in Solar Pump Installations.

Rajasthan has emerged as the top-performing state under the Centre’s PM-KUSUM scheme by leading the country in decentralised solar power capacity and ranking third in standalone solar pump installations. According to information presented in the Lok Sabha by Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy Shripad Yesso Naik, the state has commissioned over 1,236 MW of decentralised solar capacity under Component A since 2021-22, the highest in India. During the first quarter of 2026-27 alone, Rajasthan added 500.09 MW, accounting for nearly 74% of the country’s new capacity under the component. Under Component B, the state has installed 1,27,639 standalone solar pumps between 2020-21 and June 2026, trailing only Maharashtra and Haryana. Rajasthan has also excelled under Component C by solarising 1.68 lakh agricultural pumps in 2025-26 and another 29,887 pumps during the current financial year, reinforcing its leadership in clean energy for agriculture.
