Bihar CM Directs RERA to Simplify Processes and Strengthen Homebuyer Protection.

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has directed the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) to simplify procedures, enhance transparency, and strengthen safeguards for homebuyers. Reviewing RERA’s functioning at the Sankalp Auditorium in Lok Sevak Awas, the Chief Minister stressed that ease of doing business for promoters and developers must be balanced with strong consumer protection. He instructed officials to adopt technology-driven systems and integrate RERA’s operations with the state government’s digital dashboard for real-time monitoring of complaints, pending cases, and their disposal. Choudhary emphasised that homebuyers’ rights should remain the core focus of reforms and urged authorities to resolve grievances in a transparent, time-bound, and sensitive manner. He also called for eliminating unnecessary delays in approvals to improve investor confidence while maintaining effective regulatory oversight. RERA Chairperson Vivek Kumar Singh highlighted the authority’s transparent framework, while senior state officials attended the review meeting to discuss further improvements.
