Gentex Merchants Acquires ₹310-Crore Lutyens’ Bungalow Linked to Lakshmi Mittal.                                                                                                                          

Gentex Merchants Pvt. Ltd, a company linked to steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal, has purchased a sprawling 3,540 sq. yard bungalow on APJ Abdul Kalam Road in Delhi’s ultra-exclusive Lutyens’ Bungalow Zone (LBZ) for ₹310 crore. The property, previously owned by Yashwant Singh of Alwar’s royal family, highlights the growing demand for trophy assets in India’s power corridor. Singh recently bought a Golf Links bungalow for ₹100 crore, marking a shuffle within the capital’s most prestigious addresses. As per the sale deed accessed by ET, Gentex Merchants paid ₹21.7 crore in stamp duty, with registration completed in June. The LBZ, spanning 28 sq km and home to ministers, judges, and business magnates, remains India’s most expensive real estate zone. Recent deals, including Sanjay Kukreja’s ₹155 crore Golf Links purchase and Rajiv Singh’s ₹150 crore Prithviraj Road acquisition, highlight an enduring appetite for marquee properties among India’s wealthiest.
