“One Nation, One RERA – Empowering Homebuyers, Reviving Projects.”
Unified RERA Portal Launched to Boost Transparency in Real Estate.
The Union Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, launched the Unified RERA during the fifth Central Advisory Council (CAC) meeting in New Delhi. The portal aims to enhance transparency, create a nationwide database of real estate projects, and facilitate the sharing of best practices among States and Union Territories. Khattar highlighted that RERA has empowered homebuyers, ensured timely project delivery, and brought accountability to the sector. So far, 35 States/UTs have set up regulatory authorities, 29 appellate tribunals, and 27 adjudicating officers, registering over 1.51 lakh projects and 1.06 lakh agents. Authorities have already resolved 1.47 lakh homebuyer complaints. The council stressed addressing stalled projects, adopting SOPs for smoother RERA implementation, and ensuring enforcement of orders. It urged greater uniformity, stronger compliance mechanisms, and faster processes across States. A central-level committee within MoHUA was also proposed to align regulations with the Act’s framework.
