TCS Secures 20-Acre Land in Kolkata’s New Town on 99-Year Lease for ₹94 Crore.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has acquired a 20-acre land parcel in the Bengal Silicon Valley Tech Hub at New Town, Kolkata, through a long-term lease of over 99 years for a consideration of ₹94 crore. The land was allotted by the West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (WBHIDCO), the nodal agency overseeing the development of New Town as a planned technology and business district. The allotment was originally made in March 2023, with the lease agreement executed in January 2026. The parcel is designated exclusively for commercial office use or IT/ITES-related institutions, effectively granting TCS perpetual development rights. As per allotment conditions, the company must complete construction and commence operations within 36 months. The acquisition highlights TCS’s continued focus on expanding its footprint in eastern India and strengthening delivery capabilities in Kolkata’s fast-emerging New Town micro-market. Supported by strong infrastructure, airport proximity, and availability of large land parcels, New Town is increasingly attracting major institutional occupiers.
