ACME Solar Expands Operational BESS Capacity to 3.62 GWh in Rajasthan.

ACME Solar Holdings has increased its operational Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity to 3.62 GWh after commissioning 2.29 GWh of new storage projects during the current financial year. Spread across three sites in Rajasthan, the projects are designed to improve grid stability, meet peak-hour electricity demand, and support round-the-clock renewable energy supply. The company also shared findings from a technical analysis of the July 17 incident at its ACME Suryodaya BESS facility in Pokhran. The investigation revealed that an electrical short circuit in AC cables between the transformer and the power conversion system (PCS) caused a localised fire, leading to a temporary shutdown. ACME confirmed the fire was quickly contained, with no damage to other equipment, and the facility has since been fully restored. The company currently manages a renewable energy portfolio of 8,070 MW, spanning solar, wind, hybrid, energy storage, and dispatchable renewable energy projects.
