Delhi Police EOW Books Suraksha Realty Over ₹230 Cr Diversion of Jaypee Funds.

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police has registered an FIR against Mumbai-based Suraksha Group for allegedly diverting over ₹230 crore from Jaypee Infratech Ltd (JIL), funds originally earmarked for completing stalled housing projects for homebuyers. The case has been filed on the basis of inputs and evidence shared by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is probing a large-scale fraud linked to Jaypee group companies. The FIR names Suraksha Group, its associated entity Lakshdeep Investments and Finance Pvt Ltd, and others as accused. The ED has alleged that Suraksha’s financial conduct, including delayed equity infusion and fund transfers to linked entities, breached the objectives of the resolution plan approved under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code. Suraksha took control of JIL in June 2024 following an NCLAT order. The ED may now initiate fresh money-laundering proceedings under the PMLA.
