Waaree + Kotsons: Powering clean energy connections.”
Strengthening grids for a renewable future.
Waaree Energies Acquires 64% Stake in Kotsons for ₹192 Crore. Waaree Energies, India’s largest solar module manufacturer, has acquired a 64% equity stake in Rajasthan-based Kotsons Ltd through a ₹192 crore primary capital infusion, making Kotsons its subsidiary. The funds will be used to expand Kotsons’ transformer manufacturing capacity, critical for renewable energy integration and efficient grid distribution. Kotsons, established in 1979, currently produces transformers up to 35 MVA 36kV at its Alwar facility with a capacity of 4,000 MVA. With Waaree’s backing, it will scale up to manufacture 110kV/132kV/220kV transformers, catering to domestic and global markets. Hitesh Doshi, CMD of Waaree Group, said the acquisition strengthens Waaree’s vertical integration and export capabilities, enabling it to deliver end-to-end energy solutions across generation, transmission, and distribution. The transformer market in India, projected to hit $5–6 billion by 2030, will be driven by green hydrogen, EVs, 5G, and railways.
