Tier 1 cities are set to witness a surge of over 16.6 million sq ft of Grade A mall supply between 2025 and 2026, driven by rising consumer demand, according to Anarock.
Hyderabad and Delhi-NCR will lead the growth, contributing 65% of the new supply. Tier 2 and 3 cities are also emerging as key consumption hubs due to increasing disposable incomes and internet penetration. Despite this growth, there remains a gap between new mall supply and leasing demand, as seen in previous years. The online shopper base in India has grown significantly, expected to reach 300 million by 2030 and 700 million by 2035.
