Rajasthan Discoms Bag Gold Award for Pioneering Solarisation of Agriculture.

Rajasthan’s power distribution companies have won the Gold Award for their outstanding performance in solarising agricultural connections, emerging as a national leader under the PM-KUSUM scheme. The award was presented by Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to discom chairman Arti Dogra at an event organised by the All India Discoms Association (AIDA) in New Delhi. PM-KUSUM, a flagship initiative of the Union government, aims to integrate solar energy with agriculture by promoting decentralised power generation and feeder-level solarisation. Rajasthan has already installed 1,307 decentralised solar power plants under Components A and C, with a combined capacity of 2,877 MW. The state is also leading in feeder-level solarisation, having commissioned 899 plants with a capacity of 2,333 MW, supplying reliable daytime electricity to over 1.41 lakh farmers. By the end of the year, Rajasthan plans to commission nearly 2,000 plants with a capacity exceeding 5,000 MW, benefiting more than 3.62 lakh farmers and significantly reducing dependence on conventional power sources.
