Powering progress—Texmaco drives India’s clean industrial revolution.
Texmaco Rail Commissions 10 MW Solar Plant in Raipur, Pushing Towards Net-Zero by 2030
Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd., in partnership with AMP Energy India, has commissioned a 10 MWDC group captive solar power plant in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Inaugurated on July 17, the plant will generate over 15 million units of electricity annually, powering Texmaco’s Raipur operations and cutting carbon emissions by over 12,000 tonnes per year, equivalent to planting 500,000 trees. Commissioned under the Group Captive Open Access Policy, the plant ensures power autonomy while offering 30–40% cost savings.
Vice Chairman Indrajit Mookerjee emphasised the move as a step toward operational resilience and sustainability, aligned with Aatma Nirbhar Bharat, Make in India, and Net Zero 2070 goals. Managing Director Sudipta Mukherjee highlighted the plant as a milestone in Texmaco’s larger ESG-driven transformation. With industry consuming 40% of India’s electricity, such clean energy transitions can yield ₹25,000 crore in savings and cut 200 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.
