Premier Energies Begins Commercial Operations of ₹1,642 Cr Solar Cell Line in Hyderabad.
Premier Energies, a leading renewable energy manufacturer, has commenced commercial operations of its new 1.2 GW solar cell line at Hyderabad, Telangana, built with an investment of ₹1,642 crore. The facility will manufacture high-efficiency 620W DCR Topcon solar modules, based on N-Type G12R technology, which deliver greater efficiency compared to older Mono PERC modules. Chiranjeev Saluja, MD & CEO of Premier Energies, said the project represents the “technology of the future”, helping investors and consumers extract maximum energy from every ray of the sun. The modules are DCR-compliant, supporting the government’s Make in India and renewable energy push. With this expansion, Premier Energies’ total manufacturing capacity reaches 7.1 GW (2 GW solar cells, 5.1 GW solar modules). The company plans to expand by another 12.4 GW, scaling up to 8.4 GW solar cells and 11.1 GW solar modules, strengthening India’s clean energy ecosystem.
