NTPC-NPCIL to Invest ₹42,000 Crore in 2,800 MW Nuclear Power Project in Rajasthan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the ₹42,000-crore Mahi Banswara Rajasthan Atomic Power Project (MBRAPP), a 2,800 MW nuclear facility being developed by Anushakti Vidhyut Nigam Ltd (ASHVINI), a joint venture between NPCIL (51%) and NTPC (49%). The project, comprising four 700 MW reactors, marks NTPC’s entry into nuclear energy and will be among the largest nuclear plants in India, delivering reliable base-load power and strengthening the country’s clean energy mix. Alongside, Modi inaugurated NTPC’s 735 MW capacity at the 925 MW RSDCL Nokh Solar Park in Phalodi, reinforcing Rajasthan’s green energy leadership. The MBRAPP will create direct and indirect jobs, support local communities, and provide affordable, sustainable electricity to Rajasthan and beyond. In addition, the Avaada Group announced ₹19,200 crore investments in large-scale solar-plus-storage and solar projects, expected to generate over 1,600 green jobs and significantly reduce carbon emissions in the state.
