BCAS, RRU Join Hands to Set Up Aviation Security Equipment Testing Centre.

The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) to establish a dedicated testing centre for aviation security equipment, including full-body scanners. The agreement was signed in New Delhi in the presence of Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu. Under the MoU, RRU will set up and operate the facility, which will conduct trials, evaluate performance, and certify security equipment as per BCAS guidelines. The collaboration also includes joint research, specialised training programmes, and workshops to build expertise in testing and certification. The initiative aims to strengthen domestic testing and certification capabilities, support Indian equipment manufacturers, and align India’s aviation security ecosystem with global benchmarks such as those followed by the Transportation Security Administration and the European Civil Aviation Conference.
