Largest floating solar installation in Jharkhand to boost clean power generation.

TrueRE Oriana Power Wins 234 MW Floating Solar Project from DVC.

TrueRE Oriana Power has secured a 234 MW grid-connected floating solar photovoltaic project from the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), marking a major milestone for renewable energy deployment in eastern India. Awarded through a competitive tender, the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project will be developed at the Maithon Dam Reservoir, making it the largest floating solar project in Jharkhand and among the biggest in the country. The project will feature a customised anchoring and mooring system engineered to withstand river currents, ensure array alignment and deliver long-term structural stability. Once commissioned, it is expected to generate nearly 500 million units of clean electricity annually and offset up to four lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year. The contract also includes operations and maintenance services for a period of 10 years. Commenting on the win, Parveen Jangra, Founder and Chief Technical & Operating Officer, said floating solar plays a crucial role in optimising land use while accelerating large-scale decarbonisation.
