Juniper Green Energy Signs 25-Year PPA with SJVN for 50 MW FDRE Project.

Solar-plus-storage project to deliver firm renewable power at ₹4.25 per unit.

Juniper Green Energy, through its subsidiary Juniper Nirjara Energy, has signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SJVN Limited for a 50 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project under the SJVN FDRE-2 scheme. The agreement carries a tariff of ₹4.25 per unit. The project will combine solar generation with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to provide reliable renewable power during peak-demand periods. Under the PPA, the project must deliver four hours of peak-hour supply with 90% monthly availability, along with meeting the prescribed annual Capacity Utilisation Factor. The project was awarded through tariff-based competitive bidding, with Juniper receiving the Letter of Award in February 2025. The company said its integrated solar and storage capabilities will help address the growing need for dependable renewable electricity. With the addition, Juniper Green Energy’s portfolio has reached 11,216 MWp of renewable energy capacity, supported by 8,989 MWh of BESS capacity, strengthening its position in India’s rapidly expanding renewable energy market.
