INMEX SMM India 2025 Highlights Green Shipping and Global Connectivity, Sailing Towards Sustainability

Mumbai, 10th September 2025: Informa Markets in India successfully hosted the 14th edition of INMEX SMM India 2025, South Asia’s largest and most influential maritime exhibition and conference, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. The three-day event (10–12 September) welcomed 250+ leading maritime brands, 20+ international pavilions, 80+ expert speakers, and 9,000+ visitors under the theme “Building India’s Blue Economy: Shipbuilding & Repair as Growth Drivers.”

Key highlights included India’s vision to rank among the Top 10 shipbuilding nations by 2030 and Top 5 by 2047, supported by a ₹25,000 crore Maritime Development Fund and Maharashtra’s pioneering Shipbuilding, Ship Repair, and Ship Recycling Policy 2025, targeting ₹18,000 crore investments and 1.4 lakh jobs by 2047.

The event saw strong participation from ministers, policymakers, international delegates, shipbuilders, and industry leaders, emphasizing:

India’s Blue Economy push through shipbuilding, repair, and maritime freight market growth (USD 34.90 billion in 2024, projected USD 50.70 billion by 2033).

Green shipping initiatives, with focus on LNG, hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol technologies, in collaboration with global partners like Norway.

Public-private partnerships, 100% FDI in shipping, and port expansion projects worth USD 82 billion by 2035.

Skill development, seafarer wellness, and women in maritime leadership as integral pillars of sustainable growth.

INMEX SMM India 2025 also featured the Maritime Leaders’ Forum, CTO Conclave, international pavilions from the Netherlands, Germany, Korea, and Greece, and the prestigious Maritime Excellence Awards, recognizing industry stalwarts driving innovation and sustainability.

This edition reinforced India’s ambition to emerge as a global maritime superpower, aligned with the Maritime India Vision 2030 and Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.
