Forest department officials, along with BMC's H-West ward team, inspected the Mannat Annexe in Bandra West following a CRZ violation complaint by RTI activist Santosh Daundkar.

The modern six-storey structure with two basement levels serves as the main residence of Shah Rukh Khan’s family, adjacent to the original colonial-style Mannat bungalow. The complaint raised concerns over a proposed vertical expansion—Gauri Khan had sought permission from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) in November 2023 to add two more floors, costing ₹25 crore. The property, spanning over 2,091 sq.m., lies within the ecologically sensitive Coastal Regulation Zone and near the Survey of India's “hazard line.” Officials stated that as no construction has commenced yet, no violation has occurred. However, they have asked the owners to submit necessary documents. The site’s heritage status and coastal location remain under scrutiny amidst the proposed expansion.
