“Faster, smarter, and more connected — Delhi-NCR’s transport upgrade is here.”
PM Modi Likely to Inaugurate Namo Bharat RRTS & Delhi Metro Pink Line Extension on September 17.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate two major transport projects in Delhi-NCR on September 17 — the 82km Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor and the 12.3km Majlis Park-Maujpur extension of Delhi Metro’s Pink Line. The RRTS will slash travel time between Delhi and Meerut to under an hour, with trains running every 10 minutes once fully operational. Currently, a 55km stretch from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South is open, while the extension to Modipuram will provide intra-city access. Sarai Kale Khan station will serve as a major hub, linking metro, rail, and bus networks. Meanwhile, the Pink Line extension with eight elevated stations will complete the city’s first full metro ring. It features a new Yamuna bridge and a unique 1.4km double-decker viaduct. These projects mark a big step in Delhi Metro’s Phase IV expansion, improving connectivity and reducing congestion across NCR.
