“Crackdown on Land Mafia: Illegal Constructions Face the Bulldozer”

Noida Authority Launches Demolition Drive Against Illegal Flats Worth ₹65 Lakh.

The Noida Authority has initiated a major demolition drive in Salarpur Khadar village, targeting nearly 60 illegally built multi-storey buildings raised by 39 developers on 24 plots. These buildings, marketed as 1BHK to 3BHK flats priced between ₹30–65 lakh, were constructed without approvals. On Wednesday, a team of 50 officials, supported by six earthmovers and police deployment, began demolitions. However, actions on some plots were halted after farmers presented court stay orders. Still, tin sheds and site offices on three plots were razed. Authorities revealed that developers had ignored prior notices issued in July and continued illegal construction clandestinely. Strict measures under the land mafia law are now being prepared against errant builders. The Authority has also flagged illegal groundwater use at the site to the district administration. Field teams have been deputed for daily inspections to ensure swift action, aiming to curb further unauthorised construction in the area.
