Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is undergoing a strategic transformation under Chairman & MD S.N. Subrahmanyan’s “grow to sell, sell to grow” philosophy. The company is exiting legacy businesses while investing heavily in high-growth sectors such as semiconductors, green hydrogen, data centres, and real estate, alongside its core EPC strength. L&T’s realty arm is developing 75 million sq ft, aiming for 100 million by next year, while its chip design unit has seven clients and global operations. The group is building India’s first large-scale green hydrogen plant, expanding data centre capacity, and strengthening its defence portfolio with systems like the K-9 Vajra and Zorawar light tank. With sharper capital allocation, zero debt, and ₹75,000 crore in reserves, L&T is positioned for sustained growth. Subrahmanyan also highlights a push towards younger leadership, digitalisation, and AI integration, targeting revenue doubling every five years while ensuring agility and global competitiveness.
