BHVL’s Grand Mercure Mysuru Celebrates 10 Years; Brigade Hotel Ventures to Invest ₹1,000 Crore in Karnataka

Brigade Hotel Ventures Limited has announced a major expansion roadmap in Karnataka as its flagship property, Grand Mercure Mysuru, completed 10 years of operations.

Marking the milestone, the company revealed plans to invest nearly ₹1,000 crore over the next five years in Karnataka through new hospitality projects and modernization of existing assets to align with evolving experiential tourism trends.

Speaking at the anniversary event in Mysuru, Nirupa Shankar said Mysuru has evolved from a weekend tourism destination into a strong business and heritage hub, playing a crucial role in the company’s South India hospitality strategy.

She noted that Grand Mercure Mysuru served as a strategic proof of concept for integrating international hospitality standards into a heritage-rich Tier-II city environment, providing the operational and financial confidence required for BHVL’s wider regional expansion plans.

Since its launch in 2016, the 146-key Grand Mercure Mysuru has emerged as a landmark hospitality destination that blends French-inspired elegance with Karnataka’s royal heritage. The property has become closely associated with Mysuru’s globally recognised Dasara festivities while contributing significantly to local employment generation and sustainable tourism practices.

The hotel is also recognised as a Green Key-certified establishment, reinforcing the company’s sustainability-focused approach toward hospitality development.

Vineet Verma highlighted that the company’s growth in Mysuru has been built around sustainability, community integration, and long-term ecosystem development, including the creation of a strong talent pipeline and local vendor network.

BHVL has also unveiled its broader “Vision 2031” strategy, aimed at doubling its room inventory by adding approximately 1,700 new keys over the next five years through a planned capital investment of nearly ₹3,600 crore.

The company expects Mysuru’s hospitality sector to witness a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8–10%, driven by increasing demand for personalised travel experiences, wellness tourism, and rising international visitor inflows.

Brigade Enterprises Limited subsidiary BHVL currently operates nine hotels across Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Mysuru, and GIFT City, with a combined inventory of 1,604 keys. The company partners with global hospitality brands including Marriott International, Accor, and InterContinental Hotels Group across multiple hospitality segments.

With continued investments in tourism infrastructure and premium hospitality experiences, BHVL aims to strengthen Karnataka’s position as a leading destination for leisure, business, and experiential travel.
